1. For my webquest I am considering the idea of explorers or colonization. I am deciding between these two topics because they are both areas in which I am interested and areas in which I need to teach to my 4th graders in the upcoming months. I would love to create something in this class that I could use for my own students.
2. As a teacher I think delicious is a great tool. I've actually been using delicious for a few months already and I'm in the process of trying to convince my colleges to create accounts as well. I think its a great invention for anyone but an especially useful tool for a teacher. I use it as a tool to find great websites for my classroom and kids to learn, I feel that it gives you better websites than a google search due to the fact that someone else already found it and I know it must be useful because they tagged it in their delicious account. A second way that it can be useful in education is between colleges, my colleges and I are always sharing websites through email, but it would be much easier to do via delicious. A last way to use delicious is to tag websites for children to use for research. I think it would be much easier for students to find good research websites through delicious or websites that I have found for my students and posted on my delicious account for them to use and view.
3. I think that blogs are also a very beneficial tool in the classroom. Blogs can be used as a tool, similar to a classroom website where students and parents can go to view what is going on in the classroom, seeing pictures and videos of their students and get updates on important on goings in the classroom. This could almost work as a paperless classroom news letter. Also, this could work as a tool for students to view and post information about a certain topic, and to encourage students to discuss and collaborate. I love the idea of a blog, maybe that means I should get one up and working in my classroom soon!
